परशुराम ऋषि पुत्र थे, उनका शौर्य और तेज विश्वख्यात था, तो भी उनसे भी यही भूल हुई जो आज का हर सामान्य व्यक्ति करता है । मानवता पर आक्रमण होते देख कर भी जो उससे तत्काल लड़ पाने की हिम्मत नहीं दर्शाते वे चाहे कितने ही नेक, ईमानदार, साहसी और बलवान क्यों ना हो, परशुराम की तरह धोखा खाते हैं ।
एक दिन एक सहस्त्रबाहु नाम का असुर उनके पिता महर्षि जमदग्नि के आश्रम पर आ धमका। दुष्ट की दृष्टि उनकी मां रेणुका पर पड़ी । उनके अपहरण की
दुर्भावना के कारण उसने महर्षि जमदग्नि की हत्या कर दी। इस बात का पता परशुराम को चला, तब वे अपनी भूल पर बहुत पछताए और समझ गए कि यदि पहले ही आनाचार के विरूद्ध संघर्ष छेड़ दिया होता, तो यह स्थिति नहीं आती और अपने ऊपर क्यों बीतती?
परशुराम जी अपना फरसा लेकर निकल पड़े और सारे भूमंडल के अन्याय-अत्याचारी लोगों के सिर काट-काटकर दहा दिए। एक बार नहीं, उन्होंने इक्कीस बार अनाचारियों का शिरच्छेदन किया। ऐसा वर्णन पौराणिक गाथाओं में आता है, पर वह एक प्रकार का अलंकारी वर्णन है।
संस्कृत में "परशु" का एक अर्थ ज्ञान खड्ग चलाने और लोगों के सिर काटने का अर्थ लोगों के विकृत मस्तिष्क बदलने से है। उस समय लोगों में समाजिकता का भाव नहीं रह गया था, सब लोग लौकिक स्वार्थ इस तरह समा गया था कि अपने सुख के लिए लोग दूसरों के हित का भी ध्यान नहीं रखते थे, लोग अन्यायी और अत्याचारी हो गए थे, तब परशुराम ने निश्चय किया कि लोगों के मस्तिष्क को बदलना चाहिए और इस तरह उन्होंने इस एक सशक्त विचार क्रांति अभियान प्रारंभ कर दिया।
सिर काटना एक जघन्य कार्य है। अन्याय और अमानवीयता रोकने का विकल्प हिंसा है भी नहीं, उससे स्थाई सफलता नहीं मिलती, फिर परशुराम ऋषि थे, भगवान थे, वे ऐसा क्यों करते। सारी पृथ्वी के लोगों के सिर काटना संभव नहीं था। लोगों के मस्तिष्क में छाई विकृतियां केवल परमार्थिक विचारों और भावनाओं से ही दूर की जा सकती थीं। भगवान परशुराम ने वही किया उन्होंने विचार बदलने का अभियान चलाया और उसे दुनिया का स्वरूप ही बदल दिया।
आज भी अनाचिर उसी तरह सिर उठा रहा है। लोगों के मन और मस्तिष्क तृष्णा और वासना, स्वार्थ और विद्वेष से भर गए हैं, प्रतिरोध करते लोग डरते हैं, इसलिए पाप अपने आप फल-फूल रहा है । उसे मारने, लोगों के स्वार्थ और वासना को नष्ट करने के लिए हिंसात्मक तरीके स्थाई सफलता नहीं दे सकते । समस्या का समाधान लोगों के विचार बदलने से होगा और उसके लिए अब फिर से परशुराम की तरह ज्ञान के कुल्हाडें चलाना होगा।
चित्र में जिस तरह परशुराम अपना फरसा लेकर विचार क्रांति अभियान के लिए निकल पड़े हैं, उसी तरह समाज के हर प्रबुद्ध व्यक्ति को जनमानस में छाए कुविचारों और विकृतियों के उन्मूलन के लिए निकल पड़ना चाहिए और जब तक सारी पृथ्वी के लोगों के विचार ना बदल जाएं, तब तक नहीं रुकना चाहिए।

Parshuram ji got out with his ax and cut off the heads of the unjust and oppressed people of the entire planet. Not once, he decapitated the evildoers twenty-one times. Such a description appears in mythological legends, but it is a kind of ornate description.
One meaning of "Parshu" in Sanskrit is to change the brain of the people, to run the Knowledge Box and to cut off people's heads. At that time there was no sense of sociality among the people, everyone was absorbed in secular interest in such a way that people did not even take care of the interest of others for their own happiness, people became unjust and tyrannical, then Parashuram decided That people's minds should be changed and in this way they started a strong idea revolution campaign.
Decapitation is a heinous act. Violence is not an option to stop injustice and inhumanity, it does not give permanent success, then Parashurama was a sage, God, why would he do this. It was not possible to behead the people of the whole earth. The distortions in people's minds could only be overcome by charitable thoughts and feelings. Lord Parshuram did the same, he campaigned to change the idea and changed the nature of the world.
Even today Anachir is raising his head in the same way. The hearts and minds of people are filled with craving and lust, selfishness and rancor, people are afraid of resistance, so sin itself is flourishing. Violent methods cannot give lasting success to kill him, destroy people's selfishness and lust. The solution to the problem will be by changing the views of the people and for that now, axes of knowledge will have to be run like Parashuram.
